Used Seiko watches

Seiko began in 1881 as Kintaro Hattori's watch and jewelry shop in Tokyo, and in 1913 it made the Laurel, the first wristwatch built in Japan. For decades its watches came from two rival Hattori family companies, Daini Seikosha in Tokyo and Suwa Seikosha in Nagano, and collectors still look for their lightning bolt and stylized S marks on dials and case backs. Seiko launched Japan's first diver's watch in 1965. Then in 1969 it sold the Astron, the world's first quartz wristwatch, along with the 6139 Speed Timer, which most accounts call the first automatic chronograph you could buy in a shop. Because Seiko built its tool watches in such numbers, vintage divers and chronographs are easy to find on eBay. Plenty have been redialed or rebuilt from other watches' parts over the years, so learn the exact reference you want and ask for clear photos of the dial, case back and movement.
